Keep in mind that compared to your Civic, these cars, due to the turbocharging, produce much more usable torque at very low RPM. Torque peak is around 1600 rpm, and it holds it all the way to 4200 rpm for the 1.8 TSI. So it is a very flexible motor and handles the wide ratios of the 5-speed quite well.
So I just scanned my new (to me) 2017 GTI out of curiosity and the only fault code given was one for the engine. The code is listed as such: 15211 - Oil Pressure Regulating Valve P164E 00 [047] - Electrical Malfunction Now this isn't causing a CEL, but it is something I'm curious about. Has
1.4 tsi with ACT, Buy or Avoid?? – 23-04-2015, 09:28 AM. We're considering changing our Golf for a Mk7 and this time going for a 1.4 tsi 150ps with ACT. Before placing an order I thought it wise to ask for opinions on this engine from owners and in particular those of you in the trade.

Jan 28, 2016. #1. Got my Golf R last week and absolutely love it! Other than the condensation in the headlight I haven't had too many issues. However, this evening I noticed an odd sound. When I'm driving through the city, through traffic, I've noticed that there's this weird metallic/tinny noise on acceleration between 0-30 km/h.
Go for the 1.5-litre TSI Evo petrol engine, the 2.0-litre TDI diesels or one of the 2.0 TSI petrol units used in the uprated GTI and Golf R models and you'll get a more sophisticated multi-link rear suspension set-up that provides an exemplary ride and handling balance.

MadMen said: Yes - the new actuator needs to be set at 3.5-3.8 volts in closed position, and adapted via vagcom or obdeleven. However, if you were getting that code prior to the new actuator, then it could be very likely the turbo wastegate linkage, and not the actuator, so they could be right by suggesting a new turbo.
